Joey’s Rangers was created by a group of close-knit friends and teammates from St Joseph’s College in Ipswich. The team’s ethos combines the love of rugby with friendship, travel and creating memories that aim to last a lifetime. This year, the squad headed to Lisbon for their latest Rugby 7s tour. Managed and coached by Mark Patterson, the team once again partnered with STC for their kit and teamwear.
“We have used STC for all our tours and safe to say we will continue to do so,” said Mark. “From start to finish the communication and customer care is fantastic. The kit was superb, as ordered with everything correct and on time. Proper 10/10 service.”
The touring squad consisted of twelve players, from the U17s and U18s age groups, all of whom were equipped with a full bespoke teamwear package including playing kit, warm-up T-shirts, tracksuits, drill tops, and backpacks for travel.
Key to the partnership is that the players have input into the final look and feel of the range. With all design options possible plus the added creativity that a rugby tour can allow, STC presented a few design concepts. Together, the squad selected and refined their preferred option.
“The players love it and the more bespoke it is the better,” Mark explained. “The lads designed it all themselves and love having their say on what they will wear on and off the pitch.”
A collaborative process is something Mark values highly, particularly after years of working with the STC. Having previously worked at St Joseph’s College, Mark first connected with the STC brand through school teamwear. This length of relationship comes down to the confidence that comes with the process when designing and ordering kit.
“There’s always a little bit of back and forward to get a final design locked down, but once that’s done you can just leave it with STC,” he said. “That gives you real peace of mind.”
